The Full Story

- Hubert Centkowski (Bisto) was born in 1980 in Rzeszów. His parents noticed his talent quite early on. At the age of 6, he won his first children's song festival. He studied under Tadeusz Inglot until the age of 13. He graduated from music school in the piano class. At the age of 15, he performed at Poland's largest Song and Dance Festival in Konin. He was prepared for the festival by SÅ‚awomir MaÅ‚ecki, the well-known guitarist of the band Zdrowa Woda. At the age of 17, he signed his first recording contract with the Laser Sound label. In the same year, his songs debuted on radio stations, and the song “Kara za Grzechy” (Punishment for Sins) made it onto the charts.

- In 2001, he appeared on TVN's “Droga do Gwiazd” (Road to the Stars) program. After this performance, he gave several concerts, but it was not yet time for his debut.

- In 2008, he appeared on the professional music scene with “Time,” a song written by Mariusz Szaban and Marek Kruk, which was submitted to the national pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. Ultimately, Lidia Kopania represented Poland, but the artist's song was very highly rated by fans of the contest.

- In 2009, the artist released his debut album “Hubert Bisto Å›piewa Bukartyka” (Hubert Bisto sings Bukartyka) - the arrangements were written by the popular musician Marek BÅ‚aszczyk, and the compositions by Piotr Bukartyk. Even before its release, the album became a bestseller at the “Empik” chain. Finally, the album is nominated for the Fryderyk Awards in six categories, including the most important ones, for best album and vocalist of the year. The debut album also receives the Polish Radio Werbel Award, given to the best albums of the past year. Several songs from the debut album reach the top of the national charts. The artist is also invited to appear on Artur Andrus's prestigious program on Polish Radio, which has taken media patronage of the album. In the same year, he performs a joint concert with Edyta Górniak at the Podkarpackie Philharmonic. During the joint concert, the artists perform the song “Dumka na Dwa Serca”.

- 2009 also saw a second attempt to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest. The song “Picture of Our Love,” performed as a duet with Monika Urlik, is still considered one of the best compositions submitted to the national pre-selection. He ultimately qualified for the preliminaries in Ireland, where he took 7th place.

- In 2010, the artist qualified for the final of the “GRAMY” International Music Festival in Szczecin. 235 artistic entities from 135 cities in Poland and Europe applied to the festival. Only 27 performers (soloists and bands) appeared in the final.

- The years 2009-2012 were a time of concerts throughout Poland and the release of subsequent singles. The artist performed the anthem of the World Archery Championships and directed the opening ceremony of the championships.

 

- In 2013, the artist suspended his stage activities.

- In 2019, he became the main producer of Fashion Anatomy - Polish Fashion Week in Krakow. During the event, the semi-finals of the Mister of Poland competition took place. In the same year, Hubert was asked to produce the final gala of the competition at the Capitol Theater in Warsaw. Due to the pandemic, further cooperation was suspended.

- The artist's latest single, released in 2021, is the song “CzujÄ™, że umrÄ™” (“I Feel Like I'm Going to Die”), which premiered on the TV show “DzieÅ„ Dobry TVN” (“Good Morning TVN”). Ultimately, he decides not to return to the professional music scene. Before making his decision, he releases two more singles. The songs “Raz, czy Dwa” (Once or Twice) and “Tylko Raz” (Only Once) reach the top of the Polish Radio charts. A week after its debut on the charts, “Raz, czy Dwa” reaches number 2! It remains in the station's ranking for many weeks.

- During his career, he had the opportunity to share the stage with the biggest stars of the Polish music scene. Edyta Górniak, Alicja Majewska, Andrzej Lampert, Justyna Steczkowska, Monika Urlik, Ewelina Flinta, Lidia Kopania, MieczysÅ‚aw SzczeÅ›niak, Maciej MolÄ™da, WÅ‚odzimierz Korcz.

- In 2024, he becomes the host of his own show, “Historie Nieoczywiste” (Unobvious Stories), which features interesting conversations with television personalities. However, the show has not yet premiered, despite the first season having been recorded, due to the commissioning television station's lack of solvency. The show is produced by an external production company.

​

- 2024 - The artist records the single “O Come, All Ye Faithful” - the song premieres on Polish Radio. After the premiere, the artist decides not to release the composition online, explaining that the release date is too late and that he wants to promote the song the following year. The song is Christmas-themed.

​

- At the beginning of 2025, the Artist becomes the face of the Polish cosmetics brand PROUD and also signs a contract with an Italian modeling agency.

In the same year, he becomes the face of the fragrance “Heritage” produced for the PROUD brand.
